LI-CP-02 | Carbon Paste
Likhotronics | Description:
Carbon Paste is a dispersion of carbon in an organic polymeric solution. It is specially formulated for printed electronic
applications.
Likhotronics | Product Advantages:
- One component system. ‐ No mixing required.
- Organic system • Electrically resistive.
- Refrigeration not required.
- High viscosity paste – viscosity can be reduced by adding organic solvents. Solvent soluble after cure – no solubility after complete curing.
Likhotronics | Paste Preparation:
Stir (not shake) the ink thoroughly before use to ensure the product is well mixed, care should be taken to avoid introducing air
bubbles. Do not add used ink back into the container to avoid cross contamination.
Likhotronics | Properties of the Uncured Paste:
Test | Properties |
---|---|
Solids | 42‐44 % |
Density (g/mL) | 1.04‐1.05 |
Viscosity* (centipoise, cP) | 20‐24k at 10 shear rate |
Substrate compatibility | Paper/PET better results with PET |
* Measured with CP25‐4 SN000000 System
Likhotronics | Curing/Drying Schedule:
Test | Typical Properties |
---|---|
Oven drying: 120°C for 60‐70 minutes. (tested with 48 and 77 mesh) | 7‐9 μm with 77 mesh (dry thickness) 10‐13 μm with 48 mesh (dry thickness) Typical screen life > 60mins |
Likhotronics | Typical Properties (when dried/cured):
Test | Properties |
---|---|
Sheet Resistance (Ω∕□∕mil) | 100‐110 |
Resistivity (Ω.m) | 2 x 10‐3 |
Adhesion | 5B as per ASTM std. on PET |
Likhotronics | Storage and Shelf‐life:
Containers should be stored as specified with lids tightly sealed at room temperature (25oC).
Normal shelf‐life is 6 months. Extended shelf‐life can be achieved by storing inks in a fridge at 4‐8oC (do not freeze). Allow ink to
warm up to room temperature before opening.
Likhotronics | Cleaning:
The dried paste can be cleaned using solvents such as BuOAc/EtOAC.
